Level of Support
Coinbase is a part of the TaxBit Network. That comes with assistance from our Customer Experience Team if needed. Members of the TaxBit Network will receive a premium experience in terms of higher levels of support and a seamless onboarding experience.
Here is a list of transactions that TaxBit supports from Coinbase:
- Coinbase Earn, Rewards Income, Coinbase referral (Income)
- Card Spend (Expense)
- Card Reward
- Convert (Trade)
- Receive (Transfer In)
- Send: Transfer Out
- Internal Transfers (Internal Transfer)
Coinbase transactions such as: Staking and Vault Transfers will not be included transaction types.
Please Note: Currently, there is a known gap in the API for Coinbase. All transactions should come through the connection you set up, except Advanced Trades. If you have Advanced Trade transactions on Coinbase, you will need to account for those in your account manually. The two options for adding those transactions to your TaxBit account are to add the transactions manually or manually format and import a CSV of the missing transactions.
Below you will find a detailed guide on connecting Coinbase to your TaxBit account.
Step 1: Go to your "Add Sources" page.
Step 2: Use the search bar to search and select "Coinbase"
Step 3: Select "Next"
Step 4: Select "Add Account"
Please Note: You may need to disable pop-up blockers for your browser prior to linking Coinbase to your TaxBit account, as it may prevent the connection of your account. Most popular browsers don't automatically block the Link Exchange Process with Coinbase and TaxBit.
Step 5: Sign in to your Coinbase account to enable authorization to TaxBit services.
Step 6: Authorize TaxBit services to access your Coinbase account.
Once authorized, you're all set! Your Coinbase account will be successfully linked to your TaxBit account, and all you need to do is hit the "Sync" button to initiate that process of bringing your transactions over via API.
