We work hard to make adding an exchange to TaxBit as easy as possible. There are two ways those exchanges are connected: You can either authorize a connection to TaxBit on the exchange; or you can create an API key on the platform and add those API key credentials to your account.
In this article:
Exchange details window
Regardless of which platform you’re using, there's one thing you'll need to know how to do to add any exchange: how to get to the exchange details window.
To do this you'll first select "Add Transactions" from the left hand side navigation bar. Next, select "Add Exchange" in the transaction sources window. This window is also where you can see what exchanges you've already successfully added.
Step 1:
Step 2:
From there, you'll be shown a list of exchanges that you haven't already added that you can set up an integration with. from here, you'll be able to see an updated list of all the exchanges you can set up connections for.
Once you pick the integration you want to set up, you'll be brought to the exchange details window. This is where you'll enter API credentials if needed.
Direct integrations
We're currently able to connect Coinbase, Gemini, BlockFi and Uphold without you needing to create an API key. We have guides for all four of these exchange connections, which you can find HERE.
API key integrations
The rest of the platforms we have integrations for will need you to create an API key in your exchange account, and use those credentials to connect to TaxBit. We're constantly adding more exchange API connections for you to directly import your transactions.
We don't yet have guides for all of the connections that we have available, so be sure to check our full list of guides HERE.
