If the name field on your Form 8949 is incorrect or doesn’t contain a name at all, there’s no need to worry. The name that appears on your Form 8949 is set during account setup, though it can be changed if necessary.
Select the "Settings" tab at the bottom of the left-hand navigation bar.
Underneath User Settings, you'll see the First Name and Last Name fields on your account. The two fields determine what’s displayed in the name field on Form 8949. You may see an email address in one of those fields, or one of those fields may be blank or incorrect.
To edit those fields, all you need to do is select "Edit Profile", modify the fields, then select "Save Changes".
