Adding a wallet is an important part of managing your transaction history on TaxBit. In this guide, we'll explain how to link software wallets on one of our supported blockchains.
For wallets in general, you can directly link any software wallet on one of our supported blockchains using the wallet's public key/address. Currently, we offer direct integration to wallets on the following blockchains: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Helium (HNT), Dash (DASH), Litecoin (LTC), Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
Don't know which blockchain your wallet is on? Check out this guide HERE.
Note: If you have a hardware/cold storage wallet, or if the wallet is not on a supported blockchain, no problem! You can export your wallet transactions into a CSV file and then import that file into your TaxBit account. You can learn more about uploading a CSV file HERE.
My software wallet is on a supported blockchain. What next?
When you have a wallet you need to add to your TaxBit account, you can follow these steps to help you along:
Within your TaxBit account, go to the 'Add Transactions' tab on the left-hand side.
Click on the "Add Wallet" button.
We currently support the following blockchains: Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Dogecoin (DOGE), Helium (HNT), Dash (DASH), Litecoin (LTC), Binance Smart Chain (BSC), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
Once you've chosen your wallet's blockchain, you will need to fill in the 'Public Key' public wallet address. You'll also add a label, which you would like to call the wallet. The label can be anything you want, e.g. "My ETH Wallet" or "Metamask 1".
After you have filled in the "Nickname" and "Wallet Address" fields, you can click the "Connect Wallet" button.
Once the wallet has been successfully connected, you'll be able to see it on the "Add Transactions" tab.
You can also pull up the "My Transactions" page to make sure all your transactions have been loaded from your wallet.
