The CPA Review that TaxBit offers is a great way for you to get some advice on your crypto and make sure that your 8949 tax form is ready for download. Let's go over more details about how the TaxBit CPA Review works.
What is the CPA Review?
As a Pro customer, you have the added benefit of year-round access to our industry-leading team of CPAs and cryptocurrency tax experts. But these are no ordinary CPAs! Not only do our CPAs know the ins and outs of tax laws, but every CPA at TaxBit specializes in crypto tax!
Our team is here to review current and previous year filings, as well as answer questions around how to legally minimize your tax obligations. Additionally, if you failed to file previous years or receive a notice of review from the IRS, don’t worry — you’ve got an entire team of experts at TaxBit on your side!
As long as you have paid for your Pro plan, currently have an active Pro Subscription, our CPA team would be happy to help if you receive a notice of review from the IRS (past or present)!
How do I schedule my CPA Review?
In order to get your CPA Review scheduled, you'll need to make sure a couple things are in order:
- Make sure you are on the Pro plan and your payment has been processed. If you are not on the Pro plan yet, but you would like to be for a CPA Review, reach out to the Support Team via email at support@taxbit.com or through the chat button in the bottom right corner of the TaxBit screen.
- Confirm that all of your crypto sources, across all time, have been added.

- Make sure you have resolved all of your missing cost basis. If you are unsure what missing cost basis is or how to resolve it, check out our detailed articles on this topic!
Once you have gone through and made sure that is complete, please reach out to TaxBit Support through email or chat. When you reach out to schedule an appointment, please make sure you have three or more specific dates and times that work for you.
FAQs about the CPA review:
How many appointments am I allotted?
Only one Google Meet appointment is allowed per subscription year.
Can I ask the CPA questions about next year's taxes?
Yes! The purpose of the CPA Review is of course to review the year that you are about to file for, but other questions about crypto taxes are welcomed!
Can I ask the CPA for crypto / specific token investment advice?
No. These questions will not be answered in the CPA review, and are not in the scope of what TaxBit offers with this service.
How long can the CPA review be?
The meetings are scheduled for 15 minutes, but the CPA will not cut you off! The CPA review will be there for as long as is needed to review your account and answer your questions.
How do I get in contact with a CPA?
When you reach out to Support to get your appointment scheduled, a member of our Concierge Team will run a pre-review audit of your account to ensure that your time with the CPA is productive. A member of that team will work with you to make sure your account is up-to-date and whole, and then they will assist you in scheduling the CPA Review!
