If you click on one of your trades or sales on the Transactions page in your TaxBit account, you can click on the + button next to Cost Basis to expand the transaction details. This contains the date, and value in USD for any assets that are being disposed of.
- FAQ: If I've made multiple purchases of an asset before disposing of any, how does TaxBit know which assets to link together? That will depend on which Accounting Method you've set your account to. See this blog article for more details.
Example: You've acquired 3 BTC over a couple of years. This has included multiple acquisition dates, but you go ahead and sell 2.5 BTC for $10000 USD. TaxBit's tax engine will identify the cost basis for the disposed BTC based on the above mentioned accounting method (FIFO or Specific ID) and include how much BTC was used from any of your previous transactions, along with the acquisition date and value.
