There may be occasions when your CSV file will fail to upload. Uploading errors are errors caused by incorrect columns, or other formatting issues that we can catch before you upload your CSV successfully. In this article we will go over the most common errors, and show examples of how to resolve the error to get a successful import!
Validation Errors
Validation Errors are caught before the CSV is uploaded to your account. Here is a list of possible Validation Errors you could get:
- Transaction cannot have identical Sent and Received sides

- Sent Quantity is not a number

- Transaction cannot be a dual sided Transfer. That means you can't enter both sent and received information in one row. Please split the transaction into a Transfer In and Transfer Out.

- Transactions with type TRADE must have digital assets in both the sent and received currency fields not fiat (USD)

- Transactions with type TRADE must have digital asset in the sent currency field and not fiat (USD)

- Transactions with type BUY or SALE must have fiat (USD) as either the sent or the received currency field

- Transaction Type must be one of the following: “Buy”, “Sale”, “Trade”, “Transfer In”, “Transfer Out”, “Income”, “Expense”, “Gift Sent”, “Gift Received”, “Card Reward”

- Date and Time is a required field
- Transaction date cannot be in the future
- The Date and Time format is incorrect. TaxBit requires it to be in the ISO 8601 format (YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM:SSZ)

- Sent Quantity must be positive
