How to Upload Okcoin CSV to TaxBit
To properly upload your CSV to TaxBit’s platform, you will need to convert the provided transaction summary to the standard TaxBit CSV format. You can find details on the format here and an actual sample here.
Step 1: Update Okcoin Transaction Summary
- Open the Okcoin Transaction Summary CSV shared
- Add a column header for Column K (in K1) named ‘Updated Asset In (Quantity)’
- In box K2, add the equation =IF(H2=D2,C2+G2,C2)
- Copy box K2 and paste into all remaining rows in Column K where transaction info is available in the row (i.e. highlight and paste into K2 to K101 if you have 100 transactions)
- Save file
Step 2: Open a blank CSV file in a viewer to create your TaxBit import file
- This transformation is easiest done by starting with a new blank CSV. Popular software to edit CSVs include: Google Sheets, Microsoft Office Excel, or Apple Numbers.
Step 3: Fill in the headers in Row 1 (Column A through L)
- Column A: Date and Time
- Column B: Transaction Type
- Column C: Sent Quantity
- Column D: Sent Currency
- Column E: Sending Source
- Column F: Received Quantity
- Column G: Received Currency
- Column H: Receiving Destination
- Column I: Fee
- Column J: Fee Currency
- Column K: Exchange Transaction ID
- Column L: Blockchain Transaction Hash
Headers will look like this:
Step 4: Fill in Column A - Date and Time
- Copy all contents (outside the header) from Column A of the Okcoin provided transaction summary (header ‘DateTime’) into your import file’s Column A
Step 5: Fill in Column B - Transaction Type
- Copy all contents from Column B of the Okcoin provided transaction summary (header ‘Transaction Type’) into your import file’s Column B
- You’ll have to ensure the values in this column are one of the following:
- Buy
- Sale
- Trade
- Transfer In e. Transfer Out
- Income
This means you’ll have to update all rows from:
-
BUY -> Buy
-
SELL -> Sale (please note that this type has to be a different word, not just a
capitalization change)
-
TRADE -> Trade
-
TRANSFER-IN -> Transfer In
-
TRANSFER-OUT -> Transfer Out
-
INCOME -> Income
We recommend you do this by filtering on column B for one value. Update one cell to the expected value and copy this over to the remaining values your column is filtered on. Repeat this for all transaction types.
Step 6: Fill in Column C - Sent Quantity
- Copy all contents (outside the header) from Column E of the Okcoin provided transaction summary (header ‘Asset Out (Quantity)’) into your import file’s Column C
Step 7: Fill in Column D - Sent Currency
- Copy all contents (outside the header) from Column F of the Okcoin provided transaction summary (header ‘Asset Out (Currency)’) into your import file’s Column D
Step 8: Fill in Column E - Sending Source
- Populate E2 with this formula: =IF(D2="","","OKCoin")
- Copy box E2 and paste into all remaining rows in Column E where transaction info is available in the row
Step 9: Fill in Column F - Received Quantity
- Copy all contents (outside the header) from Column K of the Okcoin provided transaction summary (header ‘‘Updated Asset In (Quantity)’’) into your import file’s Column F
Step 10: Fill in Column G - Received Currency
- Copy all contents (outside the header) from Column D of the Okcoin provided transaction summary (header ‘Asset In (Currency)’) into your import file’s Column G
Step 11: Fill in Column H - Receiving Destination
- Populate H2 with this formula: =IF(G2="","","OKCoin")
- Copy box H2 and paste into all remaining rows in Column E where transaction info is available in the row
Step 12: Fill in Column I - Fee
- Copy all contents (outside the header) from Column G of the Okcoin provided transaction summary (header ‘Transaction Fee (Quantity)’) into your import file’s Column I
Step 13: Fill in Column J - Fee Currency
- Copy all contents (outside the header) from Column H of the Okcoin provided transaction summary (header ‘Transaction Fee (Currency)’) into your import file’s Column J
Step 14: Fill in Column K - Exchange Transaction ID Optional column.
Step 15: Fill in Column L - Blockchain Transaction Hash Optional Column
Step 16: Ensure that you save the file as a CSV (Comma delimited).csv file type. Using other formats could produce a result that will not work properly on import into TaxBit.
