TaxBit has two types of integrations that are supported. We support TaxBit Network integrations and Self Service integrations. For reference on the specific integrations that entails, check out our article “Supported Integrations”.
However, if the integration you’re trying to connect to TaxBit is not referenced in the “Supported Integrations” article, that means the integration can be classified as unsupported.
Unsupported Integrations: If the exchange you are looking for isn't listed in the "Add Sources" page, it is no longer supported. You will no longer be able to connect to these APIs, nor will you be able to add transactions via CSV or manually.
I had an unsupported integration connected to my account prior to the changes in support. What happens to that information?
Any transactions that were from unsupported integrations in your TaxBit account were deleted.
However, you can export a CSV of your unsupported transactions that were removed and any previous 8949s.
To download those transactions and previous 8949s:
Step 1: Navigate to your Settings page
Step 2: At the bottom of the page you’ll see the “Files for unsupported sources”. You’ll then hit “Download”
Your files will download and then you’re all set.
What can I do?
If you have an unsupported integration, we are not able to make any recommendations for possible workarounds. What we can say is that TaxBit generates tax forms for digital asset activity at a source level, and we can provide you with reports for the sources that we do support.
Please Note: Using TaxBit while having unsupported integrations can increase the amount of missing cost basis flags in your account.
When it comes to reporting to the IRS, you will need a solution to make sure you’re reporting all your transactions. If you are unable to use TaxBit as a self service tool, we recognize that you may have to look for another option that meets your specific needs. There are many options available that may fit the support and tools that you are looking for. We are unable to provide any specific recommendations, but what we do recommend is that you do research to ensure you find something that will be the best fit for your needs.
